Lakhipuronline Digital Desk : The eagerly awaited 18th State Thang-Ta Championship 2024 commenced today, July 10th, at the Old Campus of Don Bosco School in Silchar, Cachar. The three-day event, organized by the Assam Thang-Ta Association, promises to be an exhilarating showcase of skill and sportsmanship.
The opening ceremony began at 8 am, with Wahengbam Binoy Kumar Singha, the President of the Assam Thang-Ta Association, hoisting the flag. Following this, Grand Master Huidrom Premkumar Singh, the President of the Thang-Ta Federation of India, lit the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the start of the games.
Dignitaries present at the inaugural function included Wahengbam Binoy Kumar Singha, President of the Assam Thang-Ta Association, Huidrom Premkumar Singh, Grand Master and President of the Thang-Ta Federation of India, Advocate Sekhar Paul Choudhury, President of Cachar Dist Kreeda Bharati, Pinku Ranjan Pal, General Secretary of the All Assam Yoga Samity, and Thounaojam Basanta Singha, Technical Officer of the Thang-Ta Federation of India. They graced the occasion as the President, Chief Guest, and Guest of Honour, respectively, on the dais.
A total of 252 enthusiastic Thang-Ta players from 12 districts of Assam are participating in this highly anticipated championship. With a display of exceptional talent and fierce competition, this event promises to be a memorable one for both the participants and the spectators.
