Kamrup Metro District Dominates 16th Junior Boys and Girls Inter-District Archery Championship

Lakhipuronline Digital Desk : The three-day 16th Junior Boys and Girls Inter-District Archery Championship 2022-23 came to a successful conclusion on April 9, 2024. The championship, which took place in the playground of Lakhipur TE Binnakandi Ghat in Cachar district, witnessed the participation of 275 participants, including 213 archers, coaches, team managers, scorers, and officials from 21 districts of Assam.
The championship was inaugurated on April 7, with Lakhipur MLA Shri Kaushik Rai hoisting the flag of the Archery Association of Assam. The event was graced by his presence as the chief guest. On the following day, April 8, Shri Kh Bimolendu Singha, General Secretary of the AGP Central Committee and in-charge of the Barak Valley, honored the prize distribution ceremony as the chief guest.
In a remarkable display of skill and talent, the Kamrup Metro District emerged as the frontrunner, clinching the highest number of medals. They secured an impressive tally of 10 gold, 4 silver, and 11 bronze medals. Following closely behind was the Baksha district, securing 8 gold, 4 silver, and 1 bronze medal.
The championship was organized by the Cachar District Archery Association under the auspices of the Archery Association of Assam. The organizing committee, as well as the Cachar District Archery Association, expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Shri GP Singh IPS DGP, Assam, and President of the Archery Association of Assam for their generous support and close cooperation in successfully hosting this mega event. The championship marked the first-ever of its kind in the Barak Valley of Assam.

The organizing committee also extended special thanks to Sri Jayanta Boro and Sri L.P. Singh, Secretary and Vice President, respectively, of the Assam Archery Association for their active role in the organization of the championship at Binnakangi Ghat, Cachar. N. Nadamohon Singh, Secretary of the Cachar District Archery Association, expressed his gratitude in a press statement.
