Landslide Blocks Guwahati-Silchar Road, Stranding Vehicles and Causing Inconvenience for Commuters

In a recent unfortunate incident, the Guwahati-Silchar road has become impassable due to a landslide just before reaching the Sonapur Tunnel. As a result, a number of vehicles are now stranded in a long line on NH6, leading to significant inconvenience for commuters.
The heavy rainfall that occurred on Thursday night triggered a mudslide, making the road muddy and treacherous. Among the vehicles stuck in the muddy road is a 6-wheeler truck, along with several passenger and goods vehicles. These vehicles have been trapped for several hours.
This morning, clearance work has begun with the help of JCB machines. The objective is to clear the road as quickly and safely as possible to restore normal traffic flow and alleviate the inconvenience faced by commuters.
