SILCHAR, March 14: Altogether 86 companies of paramilitary forces would be deployed in the three districts of the Barak Valley which will go to poll on April 4, stated Sankar Prasad Barua, Director General of Police. Barua along with IGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta visited Silchar on Saturday to assess the law and order situation of the Barak Valley. They had a detailed discussion with the SPs of Cachar, Karimganj and Hailakandi. Barua informed out of 86 companies, 38 would be deployed in Cachar, 28 in Karimganj and 20 in Hailakandi. He further added in each polling booth there would be one constable along with Home Guards. Apart from these, three VDPs would be deployed in each booth to monitor the queue of the voters.
