Major Fire in SBI Hailakandi Branch; Cash Vault Is Safe, Customers Need Not Panic

Share

As per latest reports a major fire broke down in State Bank Of India Hailakandi branch in the morning, the ground floor is completely damaged and fire brigade engines are deployed to stop the fire from spreading further.
We have got reports that the cash vault is safe and the cash kept in the bank is intact and unaffected.
The bank has high quality fire protection arrangements installed in the branch and if it was a working day the fire would not have spread the way it did. Since today is Sunday, the Bank was shut and the fire controlling devices did not have the ‘auto-on’ feature, the fire took such horrible shape. The branch also has trained employees to restrict fire but again since it’s a Sunday they too were not in the branch.
A banker informed us that customers may need to go to nearby branches for the time being if the the first floor terminals are not working. He also assured that the customer’s account will be safe.
