SILCHAR, Sept 7: Grahak Suraksha Samiti of Cachar unit expressed its concern at the black marketing of LPG gas cylinders that has been rampant in different areas of Lakhipur subdivision.

According to the statement issued here by the Samiti, Biplab Kumar Goswami, general secretary, said that due to the scarcity of LPG cylinders, people of Lakhipur and Fulertal areas have become helpless victims in the racket of black marketers who charge anything between Rs 1000 to Rs 1200 per cylinder. The bonafide consumers of the Santosh GasAgency also allege irregularities in the booking process for cylinders.

Goswami said that his organization had already brought the matter before the higher authority of IOC (Indane) and sought their intervention to address the problem and mitigate the sufferings of bonafide consumers. (SentinelAssam)
