GUWAHATI, June 24: The State Education department is going to appoint 21,936 more TET qualified teachers in the lower primary and upper primary schools in thestate within August 15 next. Out of them, 21,131 posts are in the lower primary schools and the rest, 805 posts are in the upper primary schools

Disclosing this to media media today, Education Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma also said that 3500 posts of teachers will be kept separately for being filled up by the Autonomouscouncils under the 6th schedule of the constitution in their areas.

He said that a special teachers's eligibility test willbe conducted consecutively in 2012, 2013 and 2014 for the Sikshamitras working in the schools throughout the state. Those Sikshamitras who have the required educational qualification and who pass the said TET will be recruited in the postsof teachers.

On the matter of delay in sanctioning of pension to the retired teachers, Dr Sarma said that to remove their sufferings, provisional pension would be paid to them immediately after retirement which could be sanctioned by the District Elementary Education Officers in their respective districts. The provisional pension would be given to them regularly till finalization of their pensions. (sentinelassam)
