SILCHAR, July 4: Various details regarding the implementation of different developmental projects in Cachar district were discussed at a meeting organized by the district development council in Silchar on Saturday.
Cachar DC Gautam Ganguly presided over the meeting where ADCs SK Das, HA Laskar with different departmental heads of Cachar district were present.
The distribution of power tillers in the agricultural sector was discussed in the meeting where Gautam Ganguly emphasized the need of progress and development of the minorities in this field. The issue of the Silchar-Halflong road renovation was also brought up in the meeting.
The authorities present in the meeting informed the people gathered there that the approach road to Bailley bridge was almost complete and that normal transport could ply on the road within the same day by evening.
In the meeting, it was also revealed from the Sale Tax Department that till June 19, 2009, Rs 70 crore had been utilized whereas, the target rate was 83.36 crores. From the Transport Department it was also known that, till June, 5.60 crores had been realized. The Registration Department said till June, 3.97 crores have been collected.
Various measures adopted by the Flood Control Department in Cachar district including renovation works of different sluice gates were also analysed in the meeting. Ganguly asked the concerned departments to take necessary steps in this regard.
In the meeting, various issues relating to the implementation of programmes by departments like Water resources, PHE and others were also discussed in the meeting.
