SILCHAR, Sept 8: Dinesh Prasad Goala, Minister of Urban Development and Housing, distributed cycles among anganwadi workers at a simple function at Gandhi Bhavan today. In all, of the 2,899 anganwadi workers, 50 of them received cycles under integrated child development scheme.
Addressing the anganwadi workers, the minister said this would help them in their works and for better services to people in general. The function chaired by Deputy Commissioner of Cachar Harendra Kumar Dev Mahanta was attended by MLAs, Bithika Dev, Dr Rumi Nath and Kutub Ahmed Mazumdar, besides ZP president Dibbajyoti Barua. At the outset Social Welfare Officer explained the objective of the scheme and said that other Anganwadi workers would get cycles in phases. (The Sentinel)
