Manipur Government Announces Formation of Administrative Committees for Gram Panchayats and Zilla Parishads in Jiribam District

Jiribam, February 1, 2024 – The Government of Manipur, through the Office of the Deputy Commissioner in Jiribam District, has released a notification inviting applications for the constitution of Administrative Committees for each Gram Panchayat and Zilla Parishad in Jiribam District.

In accordance with the Manipur Panchayati Raj Act, 1994, interested individuals can apply for the Administrative Committee using the prescribed form available at Jiribam.nic.in or at the Office of ADC, Jiribam.

Key criteria for forming the Administrative Committee include ensuring representation from each ward/constituency of the Gram Panchayat/Zilla Parishad, with the Committee Chairman selected by the Deputy Commissioner. Committee members must be listed in the voter roll for the respective ward, as per the latest Final Electoral Roll published by the CEO Manipur.

All applications must reach Shri S. Indrajit Singh, Add. Deputy Commissioner/Chief Executive Officer Jiribam Zilla Parishad, by February 7, 2024, 3:30 p.m. The preliminary list of applicants (before screening) will be published the next day.

A screening committee, led by the Deputy Commissioner, will review applications, and the approved lists for each Gram Panchayat/Zilla Parishad will be forwarded to the Government for final approval.

This announcement aligns with the convey letter (No. 7/1/2022-RD&PR) dated January 16, 2024, from the Secretariat: Rural Development & Panchayati Raj Department, Government of Manipur.
