SILCHAR, Oct 28: Different Manipuri organizations, whichincluded United Manipuri Association, All Assam Manipuri Women Meira Paibi Co-ordination Committee, Barak Valley Meitei Convention and Y Sajik, Nganba Singha and Progressive Students' Allianceof Barak Valley, jointly submitted a memorandum addressed to the Deputy Commissioner of Cachar, Harendra Kumar Dev Mahanta, through the SDO (civil), Lakhipur, Biresh Chandra Nath, demanding reservation of a grade IV posts for Manipuri candidate belonging to OBC against the appointment of one of the two vacant posts of grade IV employee in Earle Higher Secondary School at Lakhipur.
According to the memorandum, the School recently invited applications against two vacant posts of grade IV of which one post is reserved for ST (plains) and other unreserved. The memorandum said since the inception of the school, whichhas two medium of instruction, Bengali and Manipuri, only a Manipuri grade IV was appointed to one of the grade IV posts.
The memorandum signed by E Manitomba Singha, general secretary, United Manipuri Association, K Aruna Devi, general secretary, All Assam Manipuri Women Meira Paibi Co-ordination Committee, Ng Brojakishore Singha, general secretary, Barak Valley Meitei Convention and Y Sajik, Nganba Singha, general secretary, Progressive Students' Alliance of Barak Valley, requested the Deputy Commissioner to make one ofthe two vacant posts reserve for Manipuri candidate belonging to OBC, so that a local educated unemployed could get the opportunity.
A copy of the memorandum was also sent to the Inspectorof Schools of Cachar district. (SentinelAssam)
