SILCHAR, Dec 19: A century-old crematorium of this town at Samshan Road was today upgraded with fanning system for the benefit and convenience of people for the last funeral rites at a cost of Rs 4 lakh raised by Drug Dealers Association of South Assam. The upgrading function was heralded by Amiya Bhushan Kar, former president of the Association, in the presence of Municipal Board Chairman Binay Krishna Das, Ward Commissioners, distinguished persons and the members of the organization. The entire amount involved in improving the crematorium was raised from the donations contributed by the members of Drug Dealers Association. Also present on the occasion were Raghuraj Bhattacharjee, Buddhadev Das and Kalipada Chakraborty, important functionaries of the Association. (Sentinelassam)
