In the historical temple of Sri Sri Radhamadhav Debata Bari located at Agartala today on 20th August at 4-00 pm a traditional musical art form popularly known as Jalakeli Pala was presented by Imasi Foundation, Imphal in collaboration with Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Tripura. In the Manipuri Cultural history “Jalakeli Pala ” was introduced by the king of Manipur Maharaja Nara Singha in 1845. Since then it was sung annually on the occasion of Budha Purnima. The program was started by offering flower bouquets to the portrait of Maharani Ratnamanjuri (daughter of Devendrajit Maharaja) and Maharaja Birbikram kishore Manikya, (king of Tripura). From the Imasi Foundation Sri L. Somi Roy has given an introductory speech about Jalakeli Pala. In the cultural program Rajmata Bibhu kumari Devi, Maharajkumari Pranja Debbarman and others Royal dignitaries were present in this program. This musical art form Jalakeli pala was sung first time in Tripura.
