Lakhipuronline Digital Desk: In a devastating turn of events, Moyin Uddin Laskar, a resident of Udharband Salgangga, lost his life in a tragic accident on Monday afternoon while returning home from wedding shopping for his daughter. The incident occurred around 2:30 PM on the Silchar-Imphal National Highway near Rongpur Akhra, when a Jagannath Travels night bus collided with the scooter he was riding as a passenger.
Moyin Uddin was traveling with his brother-in-law when the bus struck their scooter from behind. While his brother-in-law sustained only minor injuries, Moyin Uddin died at the scene. Following the accident, the bus fled the area, but local authorities from Baskandi police were able to intercept and seize the vehicle shortly thereafter.
Reports indicate that Moyin Uddin had accompanied his wife, daughter, and brother-in-law to Silchar for shopping. After completing their errands, he arranged for his wife and daughter to return home by auto-rickshaw, while he and his brother-in-law made their way back on the scooter. Their journey, however, ended in tragedy just a few kilometers from home.
The accident prompted a swift response from police, who worked to restore order at the scene and transport the deceased to Silchar Medical College Hospital for postmortem. As news of the incident spread through the Shalganga community, deep sorrow and shock enveloped the area, leaving residents mourning the loss of a beloved father.
