Lakhipuronline Digital Desk : Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Minister, Anurag Thakur, has announced the launch of ‘KIRTI’ – KheLo India Rising Talent Identification, an innovative and first-of-its-kind nationwide talent hunt platform. The aim of KIRTI is to identify and scout athletes aged between 9 and 18 years old, utilizing IT tools.

This initiative, envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reflects the government’s commitment to supporting a diverse pool of budding athletes at the grassroots level. KIRTI marks a significant milestone in the development of sports in India.
The ambition of KIRTI is to conduct 20 lakh assessments across the country throughout the year, an unprecedented scale in India. The identified young talent will undergo scouting and training at notified Talent Assessment Centres, with the goal of nurturing them into future sports stars.
Initially, 10 Khelo India disciplines (archery, athletics, boxing, football, hockey, kabaddi, kho-kho, volleyball, weightlifting and wrestling) have been identified for inclusion in KIRTI. However, the list is expected to expand in the coming years, incorporating and mainstreaming more sports for inclusive and comprehensive development, aiming to make India a sporting superpower.
Minister Anurag Thakur has urged young athletes to seize this opportunity and participate in KIRTI. Registration can be done on the official website mybharat.gov.in.
