Lakhipuronline Digital Desk : From September 20th to 23rd, the U-23 Asian Beach Sepaktakraw Championship 2024 took place at Qingdao, China, showcasing talented athletes from across the region. Representing India, Haorambam Sanjita Singha from Thingomkhul, Jaribon, Hailakandi, Assam, made her mark by clinching a silver medal in the competition.

Sanjita was honored in a ceremony facilitated by Keisham Sanjiv, Secretary of the Organization, alongside Meitram Bijen, Executive Member of the Hailakandi District Committee, and Akoijam Ongbi Ranalata (Mema), Executive Member of the Delhi Unit of the World Meetei Council (WMC). The young athlete received a monetary award and a memento, Lengyan, in recognition of her achievement.

The daughter of the late Haorambam Chaoren and Haorambam Ongbi Anita, Sanjita is currently pursuing her BA in the third semester and trains in Sepak Takraw under Coach Bidhumukhi. 

This achievement highlights the growing talent in Indian Sepaktakraw, as reported by Mutum Gunadhon, Joint Secretary of the Assam State Unit, WORLD MEETEI COUNCIL.
